Apart from my main aim of scanning through books....
....whenever I find the time, I have a variety of interests that keeps me occupied when I amn't experiencing the pleasure of studying. My second main interest is listening to Music and that too especially to singers, Kishore Kumar , Sonu Nigam , Udit Narayan , Kumar Sanu , Alka Yagnik ,Kavita Krishnamurthy , Adnan Sami...etc etc.
With the Americanism everywhere, western music has also impressed me but not the very much...do listen to a few charttoppers but restrict myself to that. A music lover by very nature, I take pleasure in listening to the albums of the above mentioned singers. The thirst for music was instilled in me with the influx of the satellite TV channels in India and various Bollywood movie channels and also by my mother, a very religious woman who used to listen to vedic master pieces right from the morning with Venkatesa Suprabatham to start with and then proceeding to other pieces by the various musicians. And my friends being great music lovers, it is no wonder why I love music too. Hindi songs have always carved a niche for themselves with the old songs by O.P.Nayyar to modern A.R.Rahman. A lot of sites offer a plethora of music downloads from www.raaga.com and www.smashits.com so on. Apart from music, reading takes the same stance as a hobby. I have always focussed more than the necessary attention to vocabulary and language development. My faourite authors are Robin Cook, Sidney Sheldon, Arthur Conan Doyle etc. the novel which i like the most is the one by the name "Doomsday Conspiracy" by Sidney Sheldon. My wish to read "Psycho" by Alfred Hitchcock hasn't been fulfilled as I never managed to get a copy of the book or I never found the time to search for it. Apart from movies,music and books, I am an avid cricket player. Not to miss out Indians are great fans of cricket,i too loved the game and there used to be plenty of cricket matches between us ( the third floor gang) and other teams and i enjoyed each and every bit of cricket i played right from the concrete pitches to the real cricket pitches.
Cricket is a great passion in india and taken to a religion rather than just a game and everything comes to a stand still whenever there is a cricket match played by India.
And to add feathers to my cap, I even represented my "House" in the school level and college level cricket matches though I havent managed to score century for my team. But the experience is worth mentioning.
And I am a computer freak. Web page designing has always interested me.I also find interest with the computer hardware and have been warned many times for disassembling computers wherever i find them !!!
And a great Joke freak, I just love jokes of all sorts, my favourite being the infamous "Sardarji jokes". Sardarjis are smart chaps from a fertile region called Punjab, irrigated by the famous 5 rivers(Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Beas & Sutlej). The Sardarjis enjoy the jokes they make about themselves. Nobody can help, but enjoy the jokes the Sardarji make upon thenselves.
Also with the German life, I have dicovered my latent interest of Dancing. I have visited the Discotheques here in Germany, my favourite being MAX-Disco. Have been into learning different dancing moves and my favourite currently being the SALSA..!!!
My opportunity of an International degree in Engineering has provided me with am opportunity to make friends with students from all over the globe. An interest in their culture has led me to sample the currencies from their countries and to my realisation, I have embarked upon a new hobby of numismatics. I now have friends who present me with any new currency that has caught their eye. I really appreciate their help in cherishing my interest.And to add on...flirting has caught on as a hobby after my mishmash with the german culture !!!
