Peeps, What up? For those of you who dont know me, My name is Suraj Kiran G.N. and  am 23, a fun loving, normal down to earth chap with profound interests in exploring life the way it comes. Born in Bangalore,Karnataka,India, in 1980 into a typical South Indian Brahmin family. My dad Mr.G.N.Seshasai, a Senior Electrical engineer with Tata Consulting Engineers noted for his acumen & intellect  in Electrical engg. subject of Power electronics and to a charming and intractable mom,Gayathri G.N. ,noted for her uncanny acumen in nabbing me for my wrong doings even before i do them !!!!!!

Going on....it would have been a boring life , if it had not been for a   He-Devil in the form of my brother, Sudhir Kiran G.N., who has the behaviour totally opposite to that of mine. Sometimes, I can fool my mom into believing my versions, but my brother !  Never !. A famous pet name that caught on my brother is Kapisreshta, jointly christened by my mom and me for his monkey tricks after the Ape-God, Jai Hanuman! Now here in Germany, I am missing out those wonderful sessions of fighting with my brother !!!

As it so happens, Indians are so particular about education and development of mind. My education began at Sudharshan Vidya Mandir,Bangalore. My school life was a wonderful experience and I should say the second best part of my academic life, the first naturally being the college life. My school life was a bit strict but thoroughly enjoyable. I was never a ruffian in my school, there were always  Huckleberry Finns in my dear friends and childhood buddies in Hari,Shanky,Chinmay,Ravi,Vicky,Sonu,Sanjay,Ashwin,Vivek,Sajan and many more (check out the page titled "third floor gang" for more details).

A thorough love in Social Sciences led me into Mrs.Anuradha, who was both my Class teacher as well as my History and Geography  teacher for more than 3 years (My God, she must have really been a genius to have managed us!). and also Mrs. Asha and Mrs.Nandini who were thorough professionals and drilled into us the concepts of Science. And then there was my favourite and stunningly beautiful Headmistress by the name Hema Narayan..(Boy, her English is amazing.Sometime when I go back to India....)..and always made me bump into her as she was our first language English teacher.

My physics and Mathematics teacher Mr.Bhat was a very strict and no-nonsense man, who took every opportunity to instill in us a quest for science and it was due to his endeavours that I opted for an Engineering career rather than Medicine, even though Medicine is a better paying and respectable job in India.

I am very lucky to have had such a nurturing environment in my school. There was a very stiff competition among our classmates in securing the first three positions in  the class tests and exams. A great group I should say and there were my best buddies, Manoj,Srinath,Ventakesh,Santosh,Bhagath,Vinutha,Roopali, Akshatha so to name a few. There was always competition and now I am missing out those great times where there was always a struggle to be the No.1. i eventually passed out my SSLC exams with flying colors and with an aggregate of 81 percent.

And after my Pre-University, I opted to do my Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering at BIT (Bangalore institute of Technology,Bangalore,Karnataka ) Although I got my admissions in several reputed institutions, my choice of BIT as a place of my undergrad was manifold. And my undergrad life was always in a "happening" state with lots of fun, friends and frolic. My first year brought me close to many other friends who were not in my Department of Mech. We continued to be so and discussed issues from college politics to NASA research, all over a cup  of piping hot Tea in the canteen. We were often late to the classes after those wonderful and memorable breaks, much to the vexation of our lecturers.

And my second to the final year brought me close to my friends like Prakash"Tension"Prabhakar,Santosh"Doubt"D,Raghu"Express"Sharma,

Prashanth"Pacchi",Subramanya"Subbu",Subhasish"Dubhashis"Das,Sanath "Bhoochakra" kumar,Vagesh "Vags",Santhosh "Dum" kumar,Naren "Nari" Sudhakar,Pramod "Dhadiya" so on. And I cannot forget the mess I as the Head of the Placement Association and my friends did during the organisation of the company orientation programme. It was a big comedy of errors, not only that of mine but that of a lot many of my friends, even though they refuse to admit it even today. But those memories are worth a lifetime!

And we just cannot forget the classes we bunked during the days we organised events such as Guest Lectures and Induatrial visits ad so on. And we just cannot forget the College Days when cakes were thrown at everybody. And also the "Holi" when everybody looked like colorful draculas. Even if we forget those days, we cannot forget the classes from our favourite lecturers Prof.Bhimkumar (Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics) and our famous Prof.Ajey Kumar (Project Management) for his breath taking and real life examples and then the third prof who made up the group of Professors of the same height was Prof.K.S.Sathish (Control Engg. and Mechatronics).  And our very famous HOD, DrD.Hemanth for his famous quote on our batch -"YOU ARE ALL HEAD LONG FELLOWS" which kept our batch always  on the hot seat and were scared by the very presence of him.And as luck would have it i landed up doing by projects under our HOD´s guidance and still remember those horrific moments faced by me and especially by my other batch mate Prakash "Tension" Prabhakar ( Prakash if u are reading this...remember the blasting over the phone !!! HAHAHA ).

My engineering undergrad life also took me around to other colleges in various seminar sessions and college days. Those were great times. Now everybody is at some point in the globe.Me here in Germany,Prakash in Bangalore, Subhasish in Calcutta,School friends such as Akshatha in Texas, Deepak in New jersey, Bhagath in London, Naresh in San francisco . Life goes on...

My friends were not just restricted to my classmates but my seniors and juniors were close as well. Life,  I now feel, is so empty and spiceless without their mischiefs. I just cannot imagine how we used to jump at festivals when free and varieties of food used to be served, much to the disapproval of our parents. I just cannot forge those long "Bajji kadai" or" Set and Masala Dosas" at Upahara Kendra !!! after the college hours. Sweet times and sweet memories.

But the old order changes, yielding place to the new. Here I am in Germany and in Siegen, we are establishing ourselves once again. We are 25 Indians strong and we have a good network of friends from all over the world, from Bangladesh ,Pakistan ,China, Thailand, Canada, Germany, Turkey , Jordan ,Ghana etc. And from other states in india other than hyderabad ( which has an alarming number of students ), we are 4 guys Me from Bangalore,Adeen Tekawade from Pune, Simon Abraham from Chennai,Sarvanan from Chennai. All of us get together during some festivities like Birthdays or just for a weekend trip. And you should know how we party! And among the friends from other countries, we have around 15 strong in our faculty. And our friends from abroad include "Professor"Suranjan from Bangladesh, "Lando" Marthin from Indonesia ,"Tsakir" Zakir from Bangladesh ,"Edi" Edmund from Ghana , Asad from Pakistan , Akin from Türkey, Wang from China and many more.
